Stuck removing front hub

I removed an upper ball joint a couple of weeks ago, used this tool and the boot was okay. I wouldn't use the wedge type tool.

I think you just have to be careful sliding it into place, just make sure it doesn't have any sharp edges.

ok,

got the hub off, taken it to toyota, had new bearings fitted (£35 - not bad! note - fitted only, not supplied)

now i am coming to refit i have noticed that one of the balljoint rubber covers is slightly cut - its only a tiny cut - not sure if it happened when i was using the ball joint splitter, or if it was an existing mark from before.

problem is, the balljoint rubbers are only supplied with a new balljoint, which is fair enough, and quite normal, but the balljoints are only supplied with a new suspension arm, which is £250. has any one got a spare lower ball joint rubber cover?!

Blew the dust off that didnt ya :p

I didnt mate, in the end i had an advisory on the balljoint itself a few weeks after so i just replaced the lower arms both sides.

If it was an Escort id have left the advisory to become a fail, but iv always replaced parts asap on the Supra.

Indeed. The only thing I want falling off at 150mph is my passenger's bra.
