As I said before, there are pros and cons. The RB is generally heavier than the JZ, and the fabrication work does make this swap seem a bit daft.

 

But, I always like seeing engine swaps, if only from an engineering/fabrication point of view. :)

Rb26 has a huge number of race tune type parts compared to the 2jz. When I built the TorqueIC shop many many years ago I remember looking at cams part numbers from HKS alone, the choice was huge. So if you want to race tune then it does give more options.

 

A lot of the tuning houses knew how to get big power out of an RB, so rather than develop the 2jz they just threw an RB in there and developed that.

 

Less of a requirement now with all the tuning parts for the 2jz.
