If you use the tyre calculator posted a bit further up it calculates on the % of width & diameter change. The larger size wall on the front with a smaller width than the rears. It's not got a larger sidewall, Alex explained earlier, the 35 or 40 is a percentage of the tyre width. 40% of 235mm gives a 94mm sidewall, 35% of 265mm gives a 92.75mm one.
