Auto Shift Lever Missing Handle

Hi all new here.

I am operating my supra auto box using the steel rod as when the car came to me it was missing the selector handle. I also think this means I am running with the overdrive engaged all the time. Picture below. Few questions are a) can I just locate a handle and screw it on, b) how easy is it to locate the junction or cable for the overdrive I cant seem to see where it emerges, and c) would it be an easier just to whack a whole new selector unit on.

Thanks

Oh yes a manual gearbox would be nice but the car didnt come with one, although I am very much enjoying the auto experience. The overdrive light on the speedo is permanently off. If I am reading the reference thread correctly then driving in overdrive mode will give me the full reach of the gearbox anyway then?

Best bet is to get hold of Keron, (extreme performance).

He's got a load of them last I saw.

Just typed out a message but seems I cannot use the PM system yet. Keron if you are out there I will call you tomorrow.

Thanks all

Yeah basically, sorry my reply above made no sense lol. If od off is lit up then only 3 gears available and if not illuminated then all 4 gears are available, driving around with only 3 gears will probably harm you auto box after a short while but it seems your only problem is the missing handle so no biggy!

Haven't the foggiest. Done many jobs on my car myself but nothing to do with the auto lever itself. My od off light flashes every so often but doesn't effect the box itself, just a little thing that bothers me but not got round to sort it yet. So maybe someone with more auto box knowledge can shed light on this and my little issue

Flashing OD light usually indicates an autobox fault. Can happen with badly installed speedo converters, aftermarket traction control and a few other things. You'll need to search to get more info as I never looked any more into it.
