JamieP
What do you think? Personally I don't think they are there just yet. But I do think, in 8 or 10 years time clean cars without a load of fibreglass stuck to them will be retro cool and command decent money. Also, I hope they do bring out a mk5 supra, the r35 did the GTROC a world of good, maybe thinking about a forum name change to supra club would be a good idea? Be nice to have all the mk5 owners here an all?
Stonkin
Totally agree Jamie, they are no where near a classic status to be considered 'retro' But considering the age of Supras now, perhaps its design can give a false appearance of its age? Would certainly be nice to keep a future model part of this same great club
mattdavies
I think it's not retro cool yet, the current retro cool in the car world is 80's really but I don't think it's too far off. In regards to the forum, I think there is no need to change the name necessarily as they might just come here anyway. I know of a marque specific motorbike forum which has become a general forum for all classic bikes but still retains it's marque specific URL
JamieP
Somebody will start a Mkv forum and they will all go there IMO, would be a shame to lose all that new enthusiasm from the club, meets would be epic once again.

Agree - you can see that with some fine unmolested examples today.
Fly
When I think of retro cool I still think mki escort or capri. I agree the supra isn't of retro cool status yet and it's lines really do hide its age, though with more and more aggressively angular cars on the road she's going to start standing out more and more in years to come. Agreed some of the more rare models and colours may start to increase in value in years to come , I'm talking about 1a1 brown and the groovy blue colour tt six models. I really do hope they put a mkv into production and we get the guys here but that's like us all joining the mkiii forum. Who knows I'm not holding my breath for a mkv I think they really have to strike a delicate balance against the previous model and where it sits in the product range against the gt86 and other production sports cars/cruisers. The-Plethora
I believe mkvsupra.net has already been purchased by the admins here from what I recall.
j_jza80
I believe mkvsupra.net has already been purchased by the admins here from what I recall. What Jamie was referring to was one forum for all. It would also be good to see some MK3 and Celica Supras too
supra joe
I'm getting a bit sick of the body kitted look tbh. I think in a few years clean stock cars will be retro and wanted.
Pete
Japanese cars have tend to have a tough time to be recognised as a cool classic outside of the enthusiasts circle. I do think nice clean unmolested examples could one day start to be appreciated.
mplavery
I'm getting a bit sick of the body kitted look tbh. I think in a few years clean stock cars will be retro and wanted. I do enjoy bodykits on cars and im over the moon with what i have with mine .. but you just cant beat stock look with a nice stance and set of wheels, ... My girlfriend is in the stage of having her 350Z resprayed and after thinking of what kit etc we are going down the clean stock route with a nice set of GTC's on If i was to get another Supra it would be 100% stock for sure I can see the stock Supra's going up in value easy one day ... Look at the GTR R34's, yes the harder to get but go for a good 25+k

The old celica, the one that looks similar to a 240z / original skyline.

Part of the charm of those old Fords is that they were working class heroes, affordable when new, and looked similar to the race versions. supra_aero
One thing I've noticed in last few months is almost everytime I take it out on the motorway I get people filming the supra driving. That hasn't happened since the 90s when my friend had a supra back then. I'd definitely say its becoming a classic.

Havard
Not yet but give it 10 years. There will be very few Mkiv Supras left. In the last couple of years I have noticed the rarity of some cars beginning to push prices back up. H.
