Not having much luck with this as need a new one, problem I have is a bought a new oil pressure sensor from Toyota pictured below but doesn't fit the plug on the engine loom! can't be the correct one and looks different from what I can remember! Does anybody know the correct part number for this item?

According to Toyodiy, the part number is 83530-30090 and its common to a whole load of Toyota engines.

i havent checked bud

i ordered this for my jap tt and still haven't put it on. ill have a look tomorrow bud

When I was talking to Steve Manley and he put it in the parts computer the part number you just posted up Swampy 83530-30090 was over exceeded by the other part number 83530-05010 you posted up ashbuster well think that's what he was saying, even the metal threaded part is a completely different size to the hole in the block, we'll it is on mine

Took the one off my 2JZ when I put it in my Mk3, as I fitted the Mk3 Sensor that feeds the Oil Pressure Gauge . .

Do you want me to dig it out for you? (£5 plus postage if you want it)

When you say you took it off your 2JZ was that a GTE or GE as think they are different!? If it is from a 2JZ-GTE (twin turbo) I'd be interested in taking it cheers, if you find it could you post a pic up first just to check?

My engine is a 2JZ-GE . . . can't think why they'd be different, as it's just a switch !

And the adaptor hose I got from Driftmotion to fit my Mk3's Oil Pressure Gauge Sensor to will screw into EITHER a 2JZ-GE or 2JZ-GTE, so the hole must be the same size . . .

But maybe they use different connectors.

Is it definitely wrong, or do you want me to try and find it?

I have one from a 2JZ-GE and again the thread size is different to what's in the block, I've been talking to Steve Manley about it and this is now the only oil pressure switch you can get for this engine no matter what model number you get for your car. I've made an adaptor to fit the block and the oil pressure switch pictured in my first post will go into that, Steve has sorted me the correct plug that will fit the new switch so its just a case of replacing the plug on the loom he told me :) I will post pics up when I collect them Saturday so you can see what's got to be done.

Right got all the correct parts now for fitting the oil pressure switch, i got a blanking cap from my local hose place which had the correct thread on to go into the block so i drill and tapped an 1/8 NPT tapper thread into the centre of the blanking cap so the oil pressure switch screws into it. you then need to get the following parts pictured from Toyota to replace the old plug on your engine loom.Terminal, Repair 82998-12440 and Housing 90980-11363 just cut and solder the new one on and cover the join with some heat shrink :)

That's crazy that they don't do the LARGER thread oil pressure switch any more . . . making an adaptor (like you have) would be impossible for most people!

Do ALL 2JZ-GTE engines have the LARGER hole then? Because I bought an adaptor line from Driftmotion to fit a proper Oil Pressure Gauge sensor - they say it fits all 2JZ and 1JZ engine blocks - but it has the SMALL thread on the end. (fortunately it fits my 2JZ-GE fine)

I suspect that a new larger switch IS available from Toyota . . . just that you don't know the part number (and I've found that most Dealers aren't very good at tracking things like that down)

I went and saw Steve Manley and he is very good at helping out and finding things out and he said this is the only one that comes up on the computer no matter what model number you put in, I'm not sure if all blocks have the larger hole either. I've bought an extension piece to go into mine as will be fitting an after market oil pressure gauge also, the extension piece I have also has an 1/8 NPT thread on it like the switch.
