Guest jambofuz
Hi I'm sorry im new and first thing I do is ask for advice, but not sure where else to turn. Have a 94 n/a 3.0 auto and having some major issues which I cant get to the bottom of. Firstly would not start from cold, spluttered eventually into life, so fitted cap, leads, rotor arm and new plugs - seems better. However when the car is warm the idle creeps to 2750rpm when warm, also the o/d light is flashing and when it flashes it misses for a split second. Sometimes it wont start from hot too - then you turn the od off so light on dash is illuminated then it will re-start. So here is the basics I have checked. Ive Fitted, coolant temp sender (green one), throttle housing, stepper motor, idle speed control valve. Cap, Leads, Plugs and Rotor arm. Ive checked all vac pipes, done a blink test but no codes. The only other thing i've noticed is the D light does not illuminate, don't know if that makes any difference. Any advice from you experts would be great as just cant get to the bottom of this. Many thanks in advance. J
LOGIE
Flashing OD light means a fault with the autobox usually. Have you checked... 1, ATF level?. 2, Connectors on the autobox itself? 3, Have you serviced the autobox lately ie changed the strainer and ATF fluid? (1.5 -2.0 litres that sits in the sump)
Guest jambofuz
Hi Logie, I have checked the level, was ok, not sure when it was last changed does look dirty so will give that a go next - do you know what oil i need and how much? gather the strainer needs to come from toyota? do you think this would case the high idle? Thanks so much for your help Cheers J

If your unsure of when it was last serviced it would be 1st on my list of to do's. Yep the strainer is from Toyota at approx. £60:blink: Id check connectors and levels before spending a fortune but servicing will need done to prolong the life of the Autobox.
