Steve
Been having a look at a Vauxhall Zafira that has the spanner light come on. If you do the pedal trick it shows code ECN 111306. After searching around it points to the Port Deactivation Position Sensor. This appears to be part of the Twinport setup on the inlet manifold. Alot of places have said it needs a complete new inlet manifold to fix this, but others have said just the sensor. Manifold seems to be around £450 plus VAT and the sensor £125 plus VAT. Either way both not really cheap options. Anybody come across this issue before? PS. Its not my car, just trying to help out my brothers, girlfriends mum
Benjy
Trying to diagnose faults this way on a modern engine is always going to be costly. Get it plugged in and get the DTC code. Clear it, run it, see what circumstances it occurs before deciding which component's faulty. If there's no rhyme or reason for it misbehaving, components need testing via live data and back probing to compare desired and actual outputs. Could be a broken wire and cost a bit of solder and some heat shrink. Or you can listen to people who have had a similar problem that may have a different cause.
