Has anyone else noticed that Sky have changed the background to their menu system ?

 

Is this on a per box basis i.e. firmware update via dial up or on the 'network' ?

 

(Sky dial into the box via the telephone line and update this when they choose)

 

Any other changes ?

i never have mine plugged into the phoneline, is it worth leaving it plugged in for a bit?

I use box office a fair bit so, it's always plugged in. I know in the first 12 months you sign up to leaving it plugged in and I kept getting shitty letters saying - Plug it in.... as they dial up every now an again to check stuff, normally in the wee hours....

 

I guess they probably look at what your viewing patterns are like etc...and crap like that ???

Updates are done over the air. The phone line is only used for sending stuff from the box to Sky. After all, why would Sky use a 44kbit connection that costs money when they can use a huge bandwidth connection that's free.
