Pulley
Ok , after installing and torquing down arp head studs to the 80lbs How soon do you re-torque? After the engine has done 100miles? Or sooner, later wot do you all do? Cheers
little num
ive had these fitted and have left them alone since the engine was built, what makes you think you have to redo the process after its done any miles.

"The studs should be installed finger tight. Then, when applying torque to the nut, the stud will stretch only on the vertical axis. An undercut shorter stud will have a rate similar to a longer, standard shank stud. This provides a more even clamping force on the head. Because the head gasket will compress upon initial torquing, make sure studs (or bolts) are re-torqued after the engine has been run." Because this on the arp website http://arp-bolts.com/p/FAQ.php
Rich.2211
I asked the same question when I installed mine, general consensus was to leave them alone. Having said that, at some point I will take the cams out and check torque on them just to be sure.
ashbuster
what a pain in the ass this can be if it has to be done
Pulley
I only asked on here because I've just put a head on for a friend and hadn't re-torqued my own head but had read this after confirming the correct final torque needed to do his (as I'd forgotten) And I thought "shi# was I supposed to have re-torqued mine" So I take it nobody else on here has bothered with a re-torque on their arp head studs either? I've only done 1200 miles on mine but it's been fine so far.
