Guest 2JZ GE W58
Executive summary car keeps locking itself every several seconds.... apart from being annoying it'll flatten me battery overnight. anyone help???? yes i have pulled the fuse but now i've to manually lock & unlock doors with the key in the door, like a shmuck!! Investigation thusfar ok so alls been well for a long time then one day the radio would not switch on. checked the fuses, inc on back of double din unit, all good, then i put it all back the radio works again HOWEVER.. in my pulling of every other fuse to check just in case, when i put back the DOOR 30A one in the driver foot well the doors both clicked (cant remember was it lock or unlock). thought nothing of it, until i realised the central locking would not lock anymore.......... but unlock was fine. unlock from both the driver door and fob work ok. lock doesnt work from either of them. it has occurred to me that the fobs unlock was more responsive than the lock over the last few months - just thought it was the fob being old n dodgy. so all this has led me to believe it must be the central locking control box....................... so then i get a pain in my hole digging the little red bastard out (anyone who has done it will know what im smoking ) and replace it with a blue one from an older supra (but the part number is higher for some reason) then when i connect the battery the doors lock immediately (if not sooner). then they keep locking every several seconds by itself. good news is the lock buttons on both driver door panel and the fob now work, and so does the unlock.... but then it just goes back to locking over & over by itself. now i did replace the main engine ECU recently, wondering if that is hooked into the central locking? i've no alarm on the car either. thanks folks Edited January 1, 2014 by 2JZ GE W58 (see edit history)
LOGIE
sounds like water or moisture bridging a circuit somewhere..? I had a similar problem years ago it was due to moisture building up inside the drivers door. I waitied till hot weather when I knew the moisture was dry and then waxoyled inside the door inc electrical parts. Problem never came back
