Chris Wilson Posted January 1, 2014 Share Posted January 1, 2014 The ABS ecu on a TT is totally separate and back behind the radio. I have NEVER known one go wrong. It will also self diagnose. 99% of problems are the wheel speed sensors or their wires. People break the wires internally working on the suspension. LOGIE Posted January 1, 2014 Author Share Posted January 1, 2014 Thanks Chris im na-tt and I noticed that NAs have a ABS ECU but TTs have a ABS&TRAC ECU (pictured) I did have to solder a connector onto the bay loom at the nsf wheel. Chris Wilson Posted January 1, 2014 Share Posted January 1, 2014 Find the plug in connector inside the plastic on the engine bay / wheel arch divider just in front of where the ABS wire clip bolts on. Separate the connector. using your multi meter (you DO have a multi meter, if not GET one...NOW.....less than £10) check the resistance of the sensor and lead. One is probably open circuit. Do the same with the rear`ones. The system will flash fault codes if you bridge the right diagnostic terminals, and tell you which sensor or whatever is not sending a speed signal.
