bonus_2000
Have many people changed their own oil on the V160 gearbox? How do you manage to get the angle to be able to refill it again once it is drained, because even though I have a bottle from another brand oil to transfer my V160 oil to, to fill it, I don't think i can get the passenger side high enough to put all the oil in. The only other option i can see if to just put one side of the car up on ramps, but not too sure if that will be high enough either. Just don't want to drain it if I can't get the fluid back in!! Cheers guys.
Alex
You need to buy a big syringe(sp?) from a motor parts place. Partco or someone like that. And you should fill the car up on a flat surface...IMO the only way to get it right is on a lift.

Digsy
I used one of those pneumatic brake bleeder kit things, attached to my spare tyre, to force the gearbox oil into my BMW once, because I had a similar issue with the fill plug being so close to the tranny tunnel that I couldn't get the oil bottle past the horizontal to refill it. Because the oil was so thick, it took bloody ages, but it did work.

SimonB
I used a small cylinder pump I got from the local car parts place. It pumps air or liquids. Cost about a fiver IIRC.
bonus_2000
All sorted now thanks guys, took it down to my mate, who owns his own garage. Stuck it up on the ramps and just drained it and refilled it using the large syringe method. Worked a treat, all done in about 5 minutes.
