WaLKeRR
I know this has probably been asked several times! I cant really afford a uk swap at moment because im trying to get parts (wheels skirts spats etc) for the shows next year, so im staying j spec, ive found some drilled and grooved front and rear discs im just wondering if anyone can recommend me some pads, obviously not at a break the bank price if possible thanks Rob
Josh42
I use Mtec drilled and grooved discs, paired with Mintex m1144 fast road pads and they stop superbly. Not break the bank expensive either:)
WaLKeRR
Sounds lazy but do you have a link or anything for me?
Nic
On a budget I would go with genuine OEM Toyota pads and discs, both of which are good quality. I'd avoid cheap drilled and grooved discs they won't improve braking and will crack.
Dan_Q
rob if you would consider second hand (not everyone's cup of tea I know) I should hopefully be going uk soon, so the yellowstuff front pads would be available if you're interested. not sure how much beef is left on them until I remove them though. only been on 12 months and I do less than 5000 miles a year, 5 sprints and one track day. Dan_Q
totally understand mate I rate them but lots on here slagged off EBC when I did a search- but it wasn't clear which colour EBC's they didn't like. I like them because I get no fade when hot and they work very well from cold- handy on a sprint car. I also used them on my old track FWD celica and they were great on that too. All IMHO of course, some avoid EBC like the plague. I've seen terrible results with green, I myself have used black on the road (mk2 celica) they were fine, red were ok (FWD track celica) but not very good from cold in my experience. sideexitsupra
I ran Porterfield pads on my J-spec brakes and surprised most passengers with how good they were! Speak to Paul at Whifbitz for more info and prices. The only downside was they were race pads and squealed a bit if they had not had any recent hard use and were very dirty. Performance from cold was good but when warm was really good.
