Guest Roger NE
Just finished connecting up the 2JZ-GE I have fitted in my Mk3, and got it started ! However, I'm showing a Fault Code 22, which is faulty Engine Temperature Sensor Where on earth is this?! Searched the TSRM, but can't find any diagram showing where it is (also searched on here) (I know where the Temp Gauge sender is, as well as the Electric Fan Temperature Switch, but can't find the ECU one) Hope someone can help
Tricky-Ricky
ECU temp sensor is next to the temp gauge sender it has two wires rather than one.
Guest Roger NE
Where exactly? I was told that the sensor (with 2 wires) on the left of the Temp Gauge sender is the Temp SWITCH (for the electric fans) Edited December 28, 2013 by Roger NE (see edit history)

Swampy442
No theres a 1 wire sensor for the dash gauge and a green, 2 wire sensor next to it for the ECU.
Guest Roger NE
Oh how annoying ! I've wired that one up to the electric fans . . . And cut the wires in the loom to use for something else ! Guess I'll have to re-connect them then. Many thanks Edited December 28, 2013 by Roger NE (see edit history)
Kaan W
Think it has a blue connector.
Guest Roger NE
I am now thinking that there is NO temperature switch for the electric fans on the N/A engine . . . The TSRM Circuit Diagram shows one, but doesn't state whether it's for the 2JZ-GE or 2JZ-GTE engine (for most wiring diagrams it specifies which it is for)

Guest Roger NE
That makes sense then ! But I shall have to fit one somewhere, as Mk3 Supras have additional electric fans, which I'd like to turn on if the engine gets hot. Don't suppose there's a convenient blanked-off hole anywhere?! TheTurtleshead
I think the N/A Engine temp sensor is located on the engine, slightly behind/underneath the top water hose. I think the guys have so-far been referring to the TT temp sensor, which is on the water neck, on the other side of the engine. With electric fans on an N/A, a common method of installing a sensor is to use an in-line adapter in the top water hose with a sensor in it. Swampy442
According to Toyodiy its in the same place as the GTE sensor
TheTurtleshead
According to Toyodiy its in the same place as the GTE sensor It lies! The water neck where it mounts on a TT doesn't exist on an N/A on the exhaust side of the engine. Pretty sure they're both under the first intake runner(ECU and Gauge Sensors), in the base of the head or the very top of the block.
Chris Wilson
N/A ecu temp sensor is below the front of the intake manifold. Not where it is on a 2JZ-GTE (on the water neck).
