Crash Bandicoot
Hi guys, just wondering if anyone can give me info on what is needed to delete the air con?
Dan_Q
i'm pretty sure this one has lots of good info on a search- did it myself a while back. i'll hopefully be doing mine in the new year- not a total stripout but just a few engine bay bits. the main point i remember is that the cradle that the aircon pump sits in also braces the PAS pump. you an either knock up an alternative or take the AC pump from the cradle and just fit that on its own. after a lick of green paint of course the threads on the search also have the part number for the shorter aux belt you'll need. Crash Bandicoot
I've done a search on the forum, don't know if its just me being a dumbas* but I can never get good results when I use the search bar :/

Crash Bandicoot
Cheers ash, will be easy to do while the engines out then what about the firewall side of the air con? Do you just bung it?

Crash Bandicoot
Okie dokie any ideas on what to bung it with? I'm thinking I'm going to make a couple plates with the bolt holes and sealing it on, that way it can be used again if needed.

Crash Bandicoot
Read a few threads on this now, is it possible to leave the aircon ports open, remove the condenser/rad and all pipe work and leave the pump in place and keep the long belt?? Kaan W
You can leave the ports open, but I would remove the pump if your gunno not have aircon. Ashbuster posted the link above for the shorter belt from whifbitz. Pk1865 iirc.

Ha ha ha the handle on my engine stand is more manly, just a cold bare metal pipe with worn paint! You blatantly sit on yours!
DodgyRog
This shows the bracket you need to keep off the front of the Aircon pump that we discussed last night bud http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?266866-The-proper-way-of-deleting-the-air-con-pump&highlight=aircon+removal

Dan_Q
You can leave the ports open, but I would remove the pump if your gunno not have aircon. Ashbuster posted the link above for the shorter belt from whifbitz. Pk1865 iirc. yep, and if you ebay that part number they are about a tenner delivered. fit zafira's and stuff. I think I picked up a dayco one for about 6-8 quid. my engine stand feels inadequate too no such attachments.
