Oil feed from sandwich plate to turbo, oil return from turbo to oil pan :)

Do sandwich plates not have 2 unions on? What do you do with the other one? Sorry, is don't know anything about this subject.

No worries at all, I only managed to do my build because of reading up on this forum night after night.

Sandwich plates typically have three 1/8th NPT threads in them. Anything you connect to the sandwich plate will have oil pressure (hence the turbo oil feed can be connected to this).

Oil from the oil feed line you will have connected goes into the turbo under high pressure but comes out the turbo with very little/no pressure and relies on gravity to return this oil to the oil pan - hence the need for a large internal diameter and smooth oil return line, for ease of flow.

The oil return must go to the oil pan as there is no oil pressure there and the least restriction for the oil to return to. If you look at the oil pan you can see the casting where the stock TT oil return bolts up to - this just needs the center drilling through and the two holes tapped ready to bolt your own flange up. I removed my engine & oil pan when drilling mine so I knew it was swarf free.. there are other methods that have been used with success that don't involve pulling the engine but have a read up on them and decide how you want to go about it.
