Delimiter fitting instructions ?

My speedo reads in kph, I'm OK with this. I just want the 180kph speed restriction removed.

I ordered a Delimiter from Euro-Spec 2000 on Weds. It arrived this morning (Saturday) without any instructions.

I tried to ring them but the phone was diverted to one of their employees house and she didn't really want to know.

I did search on the archives of this site for some instructions and found some interesting info in the "Delimiting - How to?" thread from July 2001.

From what I cqn make out it seems like Euro-Spec 2000 have sent me the wrong delimiter anyway. My J-Spec '93 TT is an Auto but the delimiter they sent me only has 4 wires. (red, grey, balck, yellow)

apparently the delimiter for an auto has many more wires than this. Can anyone confirm that this is right ?

Also can any of you guys supply me with the fitting instructions please?

Thanks a lot

Don't know exactly !

Pete Betts DOES come with instructions (tut tut !)

Mine's an auto and I'm pretty sure I didn't have to make ANY

connections because of the 'box ? ?

It's just "speed-signal-IN" "speed-signal-OUT" the OUT signal

is fed down to the ECU (passenger footwell) and cut into the

speed feed to the loom there.

THEN the signal is increased up to a FALSE limit of ~105/110

so the computer thinks it's never doing more than 112 ?

It's a 'CAPPING' of the signal.

Colours of wires..... ? ? ?

That depends entirely on "THEM" who made it !

FatS.

[ps. I'd GUESS ! red=12v IN, black=earth, but which is speed

IN/OUT is anybodys guess ?]

Sorry, is this a company or a bedroom?

Punters demanding cheap prices gives you.................monkies!!

Who manufactureres the unit, how many wires have you got and what are the colours?

If it's like the HKS unit I will try and help. If it's not I'm sure Pete Betts wil help. Either way I think you've learnt a lesson...;)

I wasn't demanding anything. I don't know if £60 is dear or cheap for a supply only delimiter. I don't care really, I just want to get the damn thing fitted and working.

I'm pretty sure Euro-Spec 2000 make them up theirselves.

Like I said before : the delimiter they sent me only has 4 wires. (red, grey, black, yellow)

I don't know what lesson I'm supposed to have learned here? The only thing I've learnt so far is that Euro-Spec 2000's customer service is crap.

4 wires is fine for an auto and manual.

Just need to find out what they mean.

I guess,

red = 12V

black = 0V

grey/yellow = input/output or vice versa.

(Best to make sure with manufacturer.)

What more do you need to know?

Just fit it to the ecu.

Regards

Pete
