barneybrendan
Got a 1.6 fiesta zetec s,at the moment it won't start.the fuel pump starts pumping but doesn't stop, could this be causing it to not start.I always thought it should pump for a couple seconds and shut off. DodgyRog
My understanding is the Pump should just prime and stop, otherwise it is just flooding the system surely I was going to say something along the line of it being a good thing it won't start, but thought I would be helpful instead:D

Benjy
Push the throttle all the way to the floor whilst cranking. If it's flooding, that tells the injectors no to inject so that the fuel in the chambers can be burnt off before reintroducing more fuel. barneybrendan
No joy on that the fuel pump is constantly buzzing away.
Benjy
The pump will buzz, it switches the injectors off, not the pump. Have you checked for spark?
L18msy
Fuel cut off switch? IIRC it is in the passenger side kick trim. There should be a inspection hole you put your finger through and down and press the button down and it should click if it has tripped. Benjy
Pump won't operate if the inertia switch has flipped...
