Slam
Is there anyone on here that has a knowledge of tyre faults before I go back to my suplyer. Bit hard to see in pictures, but there is little splits on the out side tred in the chanel. The tyre's are 235/40/18 N8000 Nexen.
LOGIE
Looks normal to me. Is your tracking and alignment spot on? Maybe Dr jekyll will be along with advice he has a tyre fitting shop
wile e coyote
Pointed this out yesterday to him The splitting is in between the tread and not all the way around Ass if the side wall is coming off or delaminating
Havard
Nexen are a terrible tyre though. We bought Vicki's 4 x 4 and realised these were fitted. They have about 5 - 6mm and we are going to bin them all. EDIT: Just been out and only the fronts are Nexens so that would explain the horrendous understeer in the wet. Khumos on the back so I may just get them all round as I had then on the Audi and they were pretty good. Slam
The tyre's have been on since 8/5/12, the rest of tne tyre is good.

Havard
The tyre's have been on since 8/5/12, the rest of tne tyre is good. Over the summer we haven't noticed an issue but since the weather turned colder and the roads have been wet, we have noticed a massive difference. clay
Check how old the tyres are. They should have a date cod on the side wall.

Slam
Get your geometry checked. Had it done just before dragon ball 12. Though driving on our roads bashing the hell out of the car, suppose best get it checked yearly
SupraLEDrears
Nexen says it all I'm afraid
listy
To be honest, I wouldn't worry too much unless the splits are deep, or if they are on a tyre seam (ie: the obvious seam near the rim, or where the tyre wall meets the tread). However, I would keep an eye on it.
Swampy442
They look like age cracks to me. And given the location of the cracks, below the tread and in the carcass of the tyre, I certainly wouldn't be driving on them.
