Guest Roger NE
Help !! I've just gone to fit the new Fan Belt that arrived a couple of weeks ago to my 2JZ-GE engine . . . and it's nearly a foot too long ! I started writing an angry message to the seller on ebay, but looked at other belts being sold to cross-check their specs . . . . all the Manufacturers say the belt should be just under 77 inches long. So I measured the belt I was sent . . . and it's 77 inches long !! Don't understand what's going on ?!! (bear in mind the engine came with no belt, so I have no old one to compare it with) Before anyone asks, this is a stock engine, with original Aircon, PAS, Fan and Alternator (and tensioner pulley) Edited December 8, 2013 by Roger NE (see edit history)

Guest Roger NE
Sussed it ! Found a picture of the correct routing . . . really hadn't expected it to double-back on itself ! (that's the trouble when you haven't got one on there to replace)
Shane
How much too long it is?
LOGIE
I find google image search good for looking at engine/bay layouts helpful for seeing which way a pipe or hose is routed and anything electrical.
wile e coyote
There is also a pic on bonnet near catch which shows belt layout unless it's been polished off
Guest Roger NE
Yes but don't have a diagram, as the engine's not in a car ! And it's going in my Mk3 Supra . . . In fact, that's probably why I had a problem - I'm not used to these long winding fanbelts - the 7M engine has 3 separate ones Yes, managed to find a photo on the internet to see how it fitted
