bambisdad
I took the car out today for the first time in three weeks and noticed a nasty knocking noise from the nearside rear. It was fine when I put it in the garage last time. Any suggestions as to where I should start looking first? Please help

mobius
Dodgy shock had this on one of my rears internal failure, no leaks and good compression when it was checked rule out everything else most stuff is visual brakes bushes bearings etc if all OK try the shock I got a used one from Chris Wilson on here either him or Keron cheap 2nd user one will rule that out also. I have had my one on 3 years now no problems. Also check top mount bolts.
bambisdad
I'm hoping its just a failed ARB bush. It is only knocking on the bumps. Will take a proper look tomorrow and see if I can figure it.

Robzki
Mine started doing this on sunday, as others have said my money is on a shock absorber. Was for me last time anyways.
Darren_Whifbitz
Shock or arb link are the norm
bambisdad
Thanks guys. Looks like the ARB link has some play in it. Will change these first before considering the shock
Guest Budz86
Drop Keron a line, he sells these for less than £20 each iirc. Genuine Toyota is around £70!
Dnk
Disconnect it and see if the knocking stops
Robzki
Both times my shocks have gone they have had noticeable oil all over the shocks and springs. It is also a screw your face up knock. Hoping it is arbs for you.
