Benjy
I'm currently running a pretty stock set up, i.e K&N Panel filter, 2nd decat and Blitz blow off valve, and on a private racetrack this evening, I was hitting 125-130 leptons on full boost when it felt like I'd hit a brick wall and the little red triangle popped up! Is this normal? Should I be hitting fuel cut with the 1st cat still in place? Did I broke it?
Ian C
On a cold day at those sorts of loads, yeah, you probably could
Homer
If you've got the correct grade plugs, good coil packs, connectors, etc it'll be as Ian says. It'll only become more frequent as the temps drop and the air gets denser. Your restrictor ring will may be adequate for summer, but it's likely too large for winter. This is where you start scaling back the restrictor ring size and adding a boost controller to keep it in check during summer (it's a fine balance believe me)
Benjy
That's ok then. It was more the red warning triangle that worried me. I've got my 1st decat waiting to go in, so I'll get an RR off Lee and get the ECU/boost controller/SAFC/pump and injectors in ASAP. Cheers chaps!
