mk1its
Guys Bearing in mind that the rear brakes supplement the front brakes, are these brake discs adequate for my UK spec rear calipers: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-SUPRA-MK4-TURBO-REAR-DRILLED-GROOVED-BRAKE-DISCS-/230589679822?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ASupra&hash=item35b03748ce I'm not trying to cut corners, I just don't see the point of spending more if I don't need to. If only standard brakes are the way to go then I'll purchase them. All advice appreciated...... Cheers Mark.
wile e coyote
You sure they are the larger discs for your uk calipers
mk1its
Well according to the brake tech writeup in the faq section, the larger rear rotors are 324mm diameter and 16mm thickness. These discs are 21mm so I presume they'll be ok?? Just trying to see what others have tried....
Dnk
Well they're not designed to oe specs as the advert states as oe aren't drilled or grooved. I personally don't risk buying unknown ebay parts when it comes to brakes You'll find the rears do over 40% of the braking too so just not worth it Edited November 29, 2013 by Dnk spelling (see edit history)

SPG
The only discs I thought were worthy of a mention, when doing a rotor upgrade, were the Project Mu, but a little search will show that these were a one time purchase , I'm back to OE

Dnk
The ones you linked to could well be fine but theres no manufacturer listed so for that reason alone i'd find something else. Try your local motorfactors and see what they can offer you, a plain non drilled or grooved disc will be fine and won't suffer cracking like a lot of cheap drilled discs do

They cracked through the heat but to be fair, the standard brake setup was no-where near fit for the power I was pushing.....but still....they cracked.... Do 'Halfrauds' sell them? Keron mentioned he had some new OE for £150.....
Dnk
More than likely but try other suppliers first as Halfords aren't usually very cheap unless you have a trade card

Dnk
I'd still fit o/e with o/e pads, they're a proven product and do exactly what they're supposed to very well, in 15 yrs of mkiv ownership i've never felt the need to use anything else. mk1its
Well 15yrs is a pretty good testing term. Are you running standard power?
Dnk
Well 15yrs is a pretty good testing term. Are you running standard power? Afraid i sold my supra in April and it now lives in France. It was a UK spec auto at BPU with around 420 hp for over 10 years, it did a few track days as well on stock brakes with no issues, the only mods on the brakes were Goodridge braided lines and i used MOTUL RBF 600 brake fluid Edited November 29, 2013 by Dnk (see edit history)
heckler
I only ever ran UK spec OE disks/calipers on my single. Cheap disks are just not worth it especially when they are drilled I once used some cheap disks on my Disco 3 - they lasted 3 weeks, so again back to OE disk and been fine for a year.
