Crash Bandicoot
Before anyone tells me to use the search bar, I have! And found a few useful bits but: I am after step by step instructions on what needs to be removed and unplugged before removal of the engine And anything needed to do the job (special tools) And the procedure of what needs to be re-plugged in and in what order when the engines in the new shell. Any help is greatly appreciated
Crash Bandicoot
I have an NA-t engine so I'm guessing the loom is a NA manual one, and the supra it's going into is an aerotop that started life as an auto, but is now a TT 6 speed. Anything needed to be changed/played with loom wise?
ashbuster
have you looked in the manuals bud? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/content.php?51-Repair-Manuals do you plan on keeping the aircon also? if so this can be removed from the engine and left hung in the bay. disconnect the loom from the ecu and the other connecters down there and pull it up through the engine bay by undoing the bolts on the loom where it enters the enginebay you need to disconnected the fuel lines/ power steering lines/ gearbox shifter/ engine earth/ radiator / ect.. its all in the manual but ill try and find a guide for you Edited November 26, 2013 by ashbuster (see edit history)
ashbuster
here you go mate, na-tt but basically the same . its all common sense really but this will make sure you dont miss anything out http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?136136-NA-to-TT-engine-transplant-step-by-step-guide-%28Pic-heavy%29 exactly what you need but if you are still unsure then look in the manuals or ask here
Crash Bandicoot
Cheers chap! I will probably not need the air con as its the aerotop, and even in the British summer it doesn't get hot enough to warrant it. Are the air con units worth much second hand? Any more guides still appreciated
ashbuster
no worries mate im not too sure how much they are worth second hand but people strip the aircon pulley down and use the plate as a support/brace. ive removed mine too and used the plate so i just chucked everything but i had a leak anyway you wouldnt need the rad part at the front of the car so that could be sold on
