Gretie22
Hello, I have had a little search, but so many threads to read through. My supra is a 93 TT, came into the uk in 98 - had a new cambelt in 02 at 33k and then again in 07 at 40k. It's now on 55k, so it's only done 15k but it's been 6 years so do you reckon I should have it done?
Mk4Gaz
Every 5 years or 60k miles is the general rule of thumb bud
Hartmann
yes better safe than sorry. a cam belt (rubber and kevlar) deteriorate over time just like a rubber tire does. and on a 2jz it is not a hard job and don`t cost a hole lot of meney to have done. Dnk
Be worth having a good look at the crank pulley when you change the belt as age also plays a part in their failure
Dazzi
Get it changed. I did my water pump too as this sits behind the belt/covers.
