Racelogic without ABS...anyone used it?

Hi all,

I was always under the impression that Traction control systems had to rely on ABS sensors to work however, reading up on Racelogic it appears they can supply a unit which uses some wheel speed sensors to work.

I was just wondering if anyone had gone down this route and how effective it was?

Not being smart but Why would this be surprising ?

The racelogic unit uses your abs sensors which are wheel speed sensors to make its calculations SO ..... if you dont have abs (which means no wheel speed sensors) then if you add wheel speed sensors the racelogic will work.

That would allow you to use the racelogic unit. the sensors are similiar but its a lot of mucking around with the sensors as they provide the sensors only. you still have to mount it and build a wheel with teeth in it to trigger the sensor as it goes around.

Always far cheaper and easier to find abs hubs and adapt them.

we had this problem when fitting them to the mr2 without ABS. i tried the wheel speed sensors but they were never as reliable as the proper ABS contacts. they would get fouled with dirt and corrosion as they wouldn't be in anykind of protection.

The way i do it on the mr2's is find 4 abs hubs and 2 abs driveshafts and just install those. There cheap for the mr2 so works out cheaper than the speed sensors anyway. Just connect the RLTC to those sensors and away you go :)
