Kendo11
Right then, I suppose the biggest update is that after standing on my drive for the best part of 2 years the car passed its MOT last week! It initially failed due to; - cloudy headlights - resolved by loaning a set whilst I wait for my new ones - front indicator issue - resolved by rewiring my DRLs and covering them with orange indicator tape - empty screen wash - can not believe they didn't sort this for me but there you go - incorrect front plate - again a strange one as it's an import so has an import plate Anyway rather than moaning and since those were all easy fixes I got them all done over a couple of hours and got it passed, no further advisories. In "excellent condition" underneath which is thanks to my under sealing work, and brakes were "perfectly set up" again thanks to my efforts over the months. So that's it MOT'd and taxed so I can get driving it again and get finishing stuff off. It's off in the paint shop in a couple of weeks as I'm not happy with what I did on that front, and so as to not adversely affect the value I want it perfect. Kendo11
Few jobs done today then, was in no rush as obviously it's now through the MOT. First, changed the last remaining blue and red bits in the engine bay to match the rest of the scheme: Next up, got the garage to fit my OBX type SS manifold, this thing is pretty bloody loud now but has definitely made an improvement in performance from what little I've driven the car so far. Had to heat wrap it in place and have some new cold air feed items coming for induction improvements: Finally the dash was obviously all fitted prior to MOT, it needs another lick of paint but you can also see I've got the Facelift clock fitted here: A full valet is obviously required but this will happen once it's been painted and so on. Kendo11
Rear light project signed off. Done: Met with a local fellow owner to swap exhausts. He's taken my 4" straight pipe Japspeed one. With the SS manifold it was way too loud, pretty chavvy. I also did some reading up and discovered that some restriction is good for performance, so a completely open big outlet exhaust isn't always best. I swapped for this Powerflow set up that feels much better, and I can hear/feel the growl of the SS manifold which I prefer much more to the cherry bomb type noise I was getting: Fitted my carbon exhaust shroud I got from rippedfear - looks and fits great. Excellent workmanship: Wrapped the intake pipe/cold air feed from the Blitz induction unit to the throttle body. It was getting far too hot and I was getting a bit of thermal bridging from the SS manifold. Got some high quality heat reflective material from a supplier and fellow petrol head. Looks like tin foil but does the job:

Kendo11
Barely any updates for a while as I was faced with redundancy and the possibility of having to sell the car. Everything worked itself out though and I've ended up with a better job and a nice payout so can finally get the car finished and get enjoying it! All I've done so far is start to redo my LED rear lights. As per the thread in my signature I got a set made but they basically fell to pieces in the units So I'm making them again with more structural integrity so should last longer. This is where I'm up to so far: I also resprayed the interior parts and gave them a coat of lacquer as the paint was wearing a bit: And also made a nice little cubby pocket for my Defi controller. I'm going to be using a 'hidden stereo' system which will be in a glove box or behind the dash. More on that when I get on with it: As well as this rather nice and rare piece of kit..... .....I've also bought/ordered/have to fit all of these goodies: - New crank pulley - New Iridium plugs - Magnecor HT Leads - Blitz SUS induction kit - 2nd decat pipe - DEI Titanium wrap for exhaust parts - Zircotec Zircoflex heatshield for induction parts - New water pump - All new pulleys - New belts (both) - Engine bay boxes Did a few other bits and bobs over winter but no pictures: - got rid of the silver D1 Spec wheel nuts and went for plain old black tuner nuts - refurbed the wheels and got rid of the kerbing and overspray stuff - got some Rim Blades to fit to protect against future kerb rash - drilled out the plastic fake wheel bolts and have got some nice SS ones to stick in - sorted a few wiring gremlins, tons of old unused cables from redundant front fog lights Also have a couple of goodies on the way from Mr Noz so will update on those soon hopefully. That's it for now!

Glad it's all worked out Dash is looking smart [emoji106] I had to google rim blades! Never heard of them before Thanks mate. I'm not sure how much protection they'll offer, it's more a case of sorting out the kerbing. Like so:

Kendo11
Couple of minor updates, car has gone into the paint shop for a full paint correction. I couldn't get it done quite right so getting it perfected by the professionals. Also getting my TRD strut brace repainted in matte black, as well as some engine bay box/covers that I got from Al Massey. Also to be done in matte black. They're also painting some rear numberplate surrounds for me and I'm getting them done in the same colour as the car. I like the look of them but have never loved them in black, so colour coded will look good I think. After it's back from the paint shop I'm starting to gather up a huge bundle of parts to fit. So far I've got; - Headlights that will be fitted with some goodies I'm getting from Noz. Top secret for now. - Rear LED lights that I'm doing again and correcting some errors from last time. - All black silicone main engine hoses. - Zircotec heat shielding for the cold air (induction) feed. - DEI Titanium heatwrap for the OBX manifold and second decat. - Mines ECU (plus one that needs repairing) - Either a Motoria 4" exhaust or 3" Powerflow one (will both be dyno'd) - Brand new waterpump - Magnecor competition HT leads - New dizzy cap and arm - LS400 front brakes & braided lines - Gates racing belts (both) - Iridium plugs - New crank pulley - All other pulleys (no bought yet) Plus a load more that I can't remember for now! Exciting times to actually have the end in sight, last time I used the car for driving pleasure and took it to meets and so on will be coming up to 18 months or so. Kendo11
Hi mate! Can you use a standard heat shield with OBX manifold? No mate I don't think so, I think you'd need to modify it to fit. I've done something different that I'll explain in the next few posts.
Kendo11
5 months later.....updates. Help up badly by a waterpump failure and then the recovery service almost destroying my front bumper but I'm now back on track. Bumper has been repaired by the body shop. Recovery service (after arguing with an ombudsman) have paid for it, I've got that re-meshed and re-fitted today. So, cat removed and centre decat pipe wrapped and fitted, and low level spoiler fitted:
