Thanks guys.

It's from eBay - I forget the seller but if you just search for 'supra strut brace' it's the one that's £97 from the UK.

Fits the NA with a couple of washers on each bolt to take it over the manifold.

First job for this weekend, or last weekend can't remember now!

Flocked interior all refitted, just awaiting a new clock and will decide what to do with the stereo.

Also painted my front bumper undertray in your run of the mill stonechip. Doesn't need to be pretty.

Shouldn't be long until all the body parts are back from the painters and ready to fit.

Next up, bodywork.

I had some rust sections on the rear quarters, parts where I'd filled in previous screw holes and rough sections on the drivers door.

I've decided to try to save myself several hundred pounds and do the paintwork myself.

I've painted a bumper before and other bits as per previous pages in here, although I've never tried blending.

So we'll see what happens!

EDIT - I'll have to add the pictures tomorrow as I've ballsed up the resolution.

Right then, updates.

New Climate Control buttons fitted, bought as usual from Amayama. A massive improvement. New = bottom, old = top:

New-ish rear inner boot seal fitted. Will be much tidier once I get some rubber cleaner on it. Old one was in bits. Ten minute job:

attachment.php?attachmentid=212285&stc=1&d=1464645570

Ridox Bumper, Skirts and Spats all back from the painters. Paid £550 for them all to be done - also got the bottom lip on the front and sides done in black. Was considering wrapping in carbon but didn't fancy it. Will be getting buffed later in the week.

Bumper meshed and fitted:

Replaced both rocker cover gaskets this weekend, should have done this last time I had everything off. Got them from importcarparts - great price and quick delivery. Strut brace now painted black as inspired by what others have done:

Colour coded hoses and better induction feed next on the list for the bay.

Next up, biggest update of the week.

My rear quarters and drivers side door had some repairs I needed to do. A bit of filler on some scratches as well as holes where spats had previously been secured in place by screws:

attachment.php?attachmentid=212287&stc=1&d=1464645805

So I decided to have a go myself, nothing to lose aside from about £30 in rattle cans and I already had most the materials myself.

Just about ready for final coats of lacquer and then it's a case of leaving it a week and buffing/cutting/polishing to bring up the metallic shine:

Comparison between existing bonnet, professionally sprayed bumper and my effort with the fuel cap:

Will obviously be getting done professionally all over in the future in my ownership, but doing it this way means I can get it on the road in a presentable condition for this summer.

Happy with it so far, proof will be next weekend.

What kind of clear are you using? if its the usual air dry Halfords stuff, id recommend this, ive now swapped over...i have used a spray gun a few times and this stuff is flawless and can get great finishes with it! ill be using it soon so keep an eye out for my paint work. 2K clear in a can, i find after a year of driving the normal clear tends to scrape and flake easily while becoming much more dull.

Halfords for now, I was tempted by the 2k stuff as I've seen it used a lot on YouTube videos but decided against it mainly because of the fumes and that I'm not spraying it a controlled environment. I'm going to end up with a few imperfections I think. Once I've sanded and polished it I'll see how it turns out and might redo it but the halfords stuff is good enough for now.

Bought a pair of silver Japan Racing JR10s also (CCW reps), just need to get the front pair.

The interior has taken up a lot of time recently. I had a bit of it flocked as per previous pages, ended up being a crap job.

On parts there was literally no primer/adhesive used, on others there was too much used.

This lot basically peeled off:

attachment.php?attachmentid=214352&stc=1&d=1472915024

I sanded as much of it off by hand as I could and applied a few thick coats of high build primer:

attachment.php?attachmentid=214353&stc=1&d=1472915024

But when painted because of the chemical etch primer used for flocking was put on so thick and rough in parts you could still see it under the paint. Tried plasti-dip and a few other types of paint after going at the stuff even down to 40 grit, just wasn't having it though:

I was all set to bin these and buy some replacement sets but with the cost of spares these days I thought I'd give my parts one last chance.

Took them to guy I know locally who does shot blasting (not usually recommended on plastic) but he pretty much got all the parts down to a respectable finish.

They were never going to be perfectly smooth again though so I decided to use some of the textured paint I'd used on the engine bay as an undercoat, and then went over it with black matte.

Looks bloody good and happy I've managed to save them:

Got the last few bits painted today ready for fitting. Time is becoming an issue as I have an MOT booked so had to knock a quick painting booth up so I could work through the rain:
