Scott
Dump it into Rolls-Royce PLC shares. As long as you aren't looking for a return next month, you're golden. You'll double your money in a few years, if it's a long term investment then just forget about it.

Jurgen-Jm-Imports
buy and sell currencies - some of the guys we deal with makes tons of money £1000s a day, they also lose money... for example I bought 20k of yen @122 rate earlier in 2013.. so for a guide £20000 cost me 2,4mill yen... now @160 I get 3.2mill yen thats =5k profit
Jamesy
I like the sound of exciting stuff. Isa's are excellent but a bit on the 'safe' and 'slow' side!
Jurgen-Jm-Imports
have a read on the net - trading currencies makes money , but everything is a risk there is no such thing as a safe bet.. for those who risk rewards may come, I know a local guy who buys and sells currencies for a living makes £300-900 a day in small deals £25-100 a deal.. Earns him 35-45k per annum - thats his job he has a nice GTR too..

Fizzy T
I've always wanted to invest monthly in shares *other than through my work purchasing their shares* but I haven't got a clue really about where to start.

stevie_b
Just for a bit of fun, IG are quoting a spread of 544.5 - 548.9 on March 2014 Royal Mail. Let's see what happens over the next few weeks. I've got a feeling they'll go down a bit as the recent rise may have been overdone. This is definitely not a dead cert, I haven't placed the actual bet myself, that's how certain I am of it. Let's say we short at £100/point. We'll put all of £5k on the line, so a stop loss at 594.5. If the price reaches that level at any point, we've lost the lot!
Jamesy
So if you stuck £5,000 on with £100/point and they go down to say 540.5 you earn back £400? What is the spread that IG have quoted about above?

SupraAyf
Where can you read more info on that Andrew?? I'll chat with one of the guys this morning and get back to you mate. It's quite simple and he makes a few quid. He only dabbles but with an extra 50-300 quid coming in every working day then it's not to be sniffed at. I'd imagine the hype like you say has overdone it & I can't see it going much further now with so much investment caused by the furry of investors when it was cheap. I was going to put money into BitCoin and regret not doing that, would have made a fortune... thing is you can never tell, it is all a huge gamble. The bigger the risk, the bigger the pot... so is the loss.
