Ewen
My bosses have recently started implimenting 'LEAN' manufaturing and production practices, as pioneered by Toyota 50 or so years ago......totally cool IMO....lots of 'management speak' but makes a lot of sense and theres lots of cool Japanese words that apply to various aspects of work etc...a sort of comprehensive version of the '5-P Principle' (proper planning prevents piss-poor performance)...which is an eye-opener for me as I thought the 5-Ps were the Friday Night Principle (pints, pie, piss, puke, punch-up).....just hope they dont analyse non-work related computer use too closely

Ewen
no, it really works.....I now get to work two hours before I get up, and when I get home I can 'stir the bucket of porridge with my pink stick' in three minutes flat - that includes foreplay and a fag..... JohnK
We have done this, was called the 5 S's when we did it. Good ideas but they dont translate to our situation and mainly involved comon sense and a complete git telling us to throw away anything that wasnt bolted down. "If we need something the company will buy it" HAHAHAHA it takes our place 6 months to order a paperclip, so now there is more unproductive time due to waiting for things. Overall a waste of time in our inviroment.
