Jellybean
Hey Has anybody bought the H&R DRS Spacers, they don't have the Supra listed so I presume we use the Lexus GS300 as an example Looks like it ticks all the boxes Bore: 60.1 Bolt Pattern 5/114.3 Bolt Type: Stud Bolt Thread Type: 12x1.5 Edited November 16, 2013 by Jellybean (see edit history)
Jellybean
Question: Shoiuld the spacers not have a new stud on them like the Project Kics? If you are using a 20mm spacer and the original studs, they would be too short ? http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm5/graphics/00000001/kics_spacer.jpg
Al Massey
I'd be worried as it should have the studs. Even with extended studs from the hub, it's still a lot of weight to put on the studs.
JamieP
Yes, you need extended studs with slip on spacers, or use bolt on spacers but make sure your wheels have the space on the back that the cars studs sit inside. Extended ARP studs and slip on hubcentric spacers are the best way to push the wheels further out IMO.
Justin Bieber
I bought H&R spacers from Ibrar for my car, they were only 10mm but included the extended studs, a 20mm spacer with the normal studs would be far too short! I personally wouldn't trust the spacers with the studs on them, If I remember right a GTR actually tore one of them apart.

JamieP
Don't use super forma bolt on spacers. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/167822-warning-aluminium-wheel-spacers.html
Guest suprageek
That could of ended up a disaster, can't believe they can make them in aluminium scary
Jellybean
If I get wheels again they will definitely be the correct offset , and I see what you mean by using extended studs and a slip on spacer ! As far as I know , the Project kics are the only spacers in Japan authorized by the shaken (Jap MOT equivalent) Reason why I purchased them

I feel your pain mate, I love my GT-C's but need a spacer to clear the fronts, it's a shame they have long been discontinued!
Pulley
Don't use super forma bolt on spacers. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/167822-warning-aluminium-wheel-spacers.html Those spacers are fine but the full length studs in that particular event didn't allow the spacer to sit completely up against the alloy, so all the shear force was on the bolts, if the alloy design allows the bolts to protrude or if you cut the bolts back so the spacer can sit flush they are fine I have been running this style of hub centric spacer along with the extended stud type for years with circa 800bhp And atm with 750 with no issues
SJMKIV
Would a 5mm spacer on the rear also require extended studs? or would you say the stock studs would be fine?
listy
5mm should be fine with the standard studs. You will only need extended studs for 10mm spacers or bigger afaik.
Thomas_germany
Usually H&R delivers extended studs. Just check the part no on their website for the spacers you need- they got the supra listet. No problems with H&R. They got TÜV certificates for all their products.
Hassan
I had a wheel spacer break off on my Audi A8 W12. The extented studs just snapped off and the wheel came off. But lucky me i was only going at 5mph at the time. Minutes before was racing 2 off my mates in there GTRs 170+
Kaan W
I'm using H&R 20mm bolt on spacers for the rear, they have studs built in and come with nuts to fix the spacer to the hub. Then the wheel bolts straight on using normal wheel nuts.

supra_ufo
glad this thead popped up, reminds me I got a set of hub centric spacers with my 2nd hand wheels, when I came to put them on I noticed there wasn't much thread left in my existing bolts.... as you can see from the pictures. I was going to get extended bolts but how safe are they? Im too young to die!

Jellybean
You will need extended studs mate, OR some bolt on spacers but I believe the smallest bolt ons are 20mm. You can get 25mm and 30mm bolt on Spacers I have the Project Kics bolt on spacers on my car last 6 years no issues, I had to drop to a 20mm spacer, I got a slip on spacer with extended studs I heard two arguments for which is better Extended studs are safer because they are fixed through the Hub as opposed to just bolted onto the hub Bolt on Spacers because with extended studs (do to the length) they can twist depending on power levels To me both arguments make sense, H&R do both bolt on and slip on spacers ; plus alot of the drift cars put tremendous stress on either types. To me either one is fine , once you have a quality product under you and you are not putting spacers on something like a GTR with its cornering abilities and 4WD system. Only additional plus I can see with the bolt on spacers, any DIY mechanic can put them on very easily But if you can get the correct wheel offset in the first place by the time you purchase 4 spacers it will be just as cheap or cheaper to get your car measured by a professional for the correct offset Edited January 10, 2014 by Jellybean (see edit history)
