anthonyj
I'm looking at buying an Aerotop but one of the bolts in the roof (the middle one) is stripped so that the allen keys can't easiily open it. Has anyone suffered from this before and does anyone have any idea how I might get it fixed? Will it require a new roof or can that part of the mechanism be fixed? Many thanks, Anthony. Guest Martin F
Hi, my name is Martin i also own a Supra, but not a targa. You may find this link some help :- http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/targa_top_rattle/index.html If not try asking the same question on one of the American forums as they almost all own targa tops and i know similar questions to yours come up all the time. anthonyj
Hmm, I've found loads of stuff about squeaky aerotops but nothing about problems getting them on and off. My problem is that the socket that the allen key is supposed to go in is stripped so I can't undo it easily. I'm nervous about taking the roof off in case I can't bolt it back up again!! Also, does anyone know if you can get spare wrenches for the roof? Thanks!
Simon
You may want to contact your 'local' importer and ask nicely if they happen to have one lying around. Failing that then a visit to your local tool shop should enable you to purchase a small rachet and allen key to fit.
B3any
I've got an Aeorotop and had no problemsd so far with the bolts, but i do wonder sometimes that i may be stripping the bolts or if they get damaged how do you take the roof off or put it back on? Anyone know of a quick release system for these?

I think the middle one is only a latch and needs to be turned 90 degrees. The other 4 are the screws. My middle allen key hole is all knackered and rounded off but I just turn the allen key in it at an angle and that seems to work. I'm sure ou could buy just a new component though. J.
