Been looking at r34s again since this thread started lol :( that side exit looks pretty cool although for me it would have to be the usual tail exit exhaust.

I am surprised at the residual value of those R34 GTRs. Amazing really. I think they hold their value better than the strongest value Japanese car I know of the NSX. At some point you will pay more for an R34 than its successor.

R35 prices should fall well below those of R34s, as there's so many more of them in the UK. It will be interesting to see how R35s fare as they get older, being very complex and expensive to repair.

The NSX has been appreciating of a couple of years now, low mileage manual cars have jumped significantly in price (roughly around £5k I reckon). R34s are depreciating, but very slowly. As an investment, an R34 or an NSX is a better buy than an R35 or other contemporaries, such as 996 Turbos, XKRs etc.

I was chatting to the owner of a Jaguar specialist the other day, his personal E-type convertible has gained circa £60k in value over the last 8 years. So in effect, he's been earning a few £k a year for driving around in one of the most beautiful cars you can buy - I was a little jealous! :D

All new cars drop in price but I don't think R35 prices will fall much, I think if mine was stock I'd still get what I paid for it now. Also the fact that there is no new R35's available in the UK at the moment is helping used prices, just a few ex demos kicking about in showrooms.

I suspect R35 prices will closely match those of 911 Turbos. I don't think they'll depreciate as badly as equivalent BMWs, Mercs, and Jags.

The constant price increases on new GTRs is certainly helping used prices. I don't think R35s or subsequent future GTRs will ever be held in the same regard as the R34 GTR is though, as they are designed to appeal to a wider range of people than earlier GTRs. In my mind, the R32 should be the most revered of the lot, as they are the best drive of RB26 engined cars, and one day I reckon investor grade ones will be worth serious money.

Jamesy, have you considered an R33 NISMO 400R? Hard to find, but they're top R34 money, and a pretty safe place to put your money IMO.

There's a Nismo 400R for sale in Japan at the moment: http://www.carsensor.net/usedcar/detail/CU2057814311/index.html?TRCD=200002

I'd prefer this over a regular R34 GTR, but it would be hard for me to decide between this and an R34 V-Spec II NUR. The RB-X GT2 engine in the 400R is only topped by the Z-Tunes Z2 engine as the ultimate factory built RB engine.

Just typing that is swaying me towards the 400R! :D

My ultimate R34, the V Spec II NUR in Millennium Jade Pearl.

Not as extreme as the Z-Tune, but I prefer it's understated nature, and this colour is just stunning. As Jamie said before, some wheels (BBS LMs would be my choice) and lowering is all it needs.

I don't think anything needs changing on that car at all! Looks spot on.

The best ! and the price is that of a second hand my11 r35 if you can find one that is. I reckon the r34's will become a bit like the rs500's are Nissan just didn't make enough not like the other models of skyline.

Exactly, bit like the Do-Luck, some cars are just a good investment long term...
