Gretie22
Sorry about all the alternator questions I've been posting, I'm just very confused. Which alternators will fit my 93 jspec auto TT? I need to get to the bottom off this, don't want to buy one and it not fit/work. Any help would be much appreciated.
Scooter
Yes but it's better to have a Auto alternator as it'll be 100amps compared to 90amps Something like below may be worth considering, yes it's ebay but they are a regular alternator specialist and do express delivery and so should know their onions... Homer
Good info Sorry to hijack, but is the NA and TT alternator the same for auto and manual respectively? I.e. NA 5spd the same as 6spd TT? I'll also give that company a try Scooter

Thanks for the info.
DodgyRog
There are also 2 different connectors, they are both switchable, but it is easier to get the same as you have One connects side on and the other straight in, this doesn't seem to have a model specific reason as far as I can tell (Keron might be able to advise on that though) If you have a manual, the best bet is to fit an Auto one for the extra 10 Amps, especially if you are planning to run extra electricals N/A and TT's use the same Alternator, just manual to Auto is different, the Auto uses more electrical power due to the extra electrics for the Auto Box controls Edited November 3, 2013 by DodgyRog (see edit history)
Gretie22
Thanks mine is an auto, the part no is 27060-46120, but I've searched everywhere and the only one in the uk I could fine is a genuine Toyota one costing almost £300 which I really can't afford right now. The only extra electrics I have is the Clifford alarm, so would a 90amp manual one fit on ok? Or even this 80amp one that's been mentioned above from ebay? This is causing me a headache :/
DodgyRog
Personally I would get it refurbed, if you can't do without the car, contact Keron and buy a 2nd hand one to use while you refurb your old one I am not sure an manual one will keep your battery charged properly Have you put up a Wanted thread and contacted Keron
Gretie22
Any idea of a rough price of getting mine referbed? I have made a wanted thread, haven't contacted Keron as I was told he was taking a few months out, but will do that now. Thanks Edited November 3, 2013 by Gretie22 (see edit history)

Stevo
Given the number of cars being broken at the minute, surely one of them has a 100amp alternator on the go - doesn't matter whether its an NA or TT. The 100 amp from my NA runs Hodge's mahoosive single with all manner of after market electrics on it.
Gretie22
I think I'll prob stick a cheap 90amp on for now whilst I get mine refurbed, as mines only done 50k miles.
fastnfurious
was wondering if this replacement unit (found on eBay) will fit perfectly on my UK-spec Supra TT auto (RHD)? btw, are both RHD and LHD using the same alternator part number or different? http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-NEW-TOYOTA-SUPRA-TURBO-ALTERNATOR-AUTOMATIC-100Amp-/290225957723?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4392d0ab5b&vxp=mtr
