Guest thejamman12
I currently own a jap spec twin turbo 6 speed manual and I`m looking to go down the single route. I`m just after some advice as to what supporting mods are best and what turbo set ups have been tried and tested as there are some of you guys on here that know a damn site more than I do any help would be much appreciated. Gaz6002
Using the search function is your best bet. Been covered hundreds of times before. Do a LOT of research and then fill ya boots
Luxluc
Start defining your power goals and budget. This will guide you straight in the right direction.
Guest thejamman12
Between 500-600bhp 2k-3k Maybe more if needed
James
You could do a single conversion for £5-6k if you shop around A LOT and gather all your parts second hand and carry out all of the labour yourself. Even then, there will be a bunch of little parts that will make that figure rise and rise still. Generally, budgeting for at least £10k+ is to be expected for a single build. Usually nearer £15k. Then add on to that as things go no doubt.
Gaz6002
Not a chance on that budget.

marc_p
Thats not my budget was just a rough figure of what i was thinking.. so no drama ill make it happen either way I'd budget £10k but be prepared to go over that. Mines run me at about £12k or more and that's with me doing all the work myself.
Big Supes
I'm tempted to keep my eyes peeled for a cheap single turbo (seen a few going for around 7k) and break it. You'll get all the bits you need and claw back a bit of cash on other bits.

Big Supes
For around 500bhp... FMIC Injectors FPR Wideband AFR Boost gauge Heavy duty clutch Uprated head bolts Cams Manifold Turbo Turbo elbow Oil cooler (not essential though) ECU and map sensor Fuel pump Anything else I'm missing? Kinda wouldn't mind getting a list down for my own reference.
Kaan W
Cams won't be necessary to go single but will help with power if there's change left over. Save for your ecu, fuel system and turbo kit then save that amount again for little bits and bobs.
Luxluc
Forget the cams .. no need for sub-600 bhp. As Kaan said : ECU, turbo kit, fuel system and a proper clutch should do the job.

tooquicktostop
6.5K Buys you a full car, and a nice one at that, already running 500BHP on a fast spooling GT35
Guest silvianc
Yoink. No polluting a tech article with shameless advertising of broken turbos Plus Garrett don't make the T04Z, that's a HKS brand.
