listy
I have purchased a new handle for the handbrake so it matches the rest of my interior, and looks a lot nicer. However, I have a problem! It says on the packaging to REMOVE the existing handle, and REPLACE it with this new one. Does any one know how on earth I remove the handle off the handbrake? Looking at it, it seems bonded together, and unless someone can tell me how to remove it, I don't want to go butchering it and finding out there is no way back Help please
LOGIE
Im guessing just get a good grip and give it a good twist and pull? Maybe some heat to warm the rubber.
listy
That's what I was thinking, I just don't know what's underneath the leather part
Westy
I'm sure the handbrake lever is all one unit...you can't simply replace the leather grip!? If going that route you would need to cut it off and bond the replacement on the exiting lever mechanism.
Pulley
Under the leather is the rubber bonded cover that is part if the rear casing When I made my own cnc cover I striped the leather and cut off the rubber to expose the metal tube underneath I'd remove the leather (unpick the stitching and peel off) then measure the rubber and your new internal dimension of your new cover You may not need to remove any more than just the leather
