kitch79
I got mine from regtransfers... and sold one thru them. They make a LOT of money ha! I had N3 JEM, come on a car so advertised it via them, wasnt selling, I was due to get around 450 from the sale. But after months I got a friend to call them and enquire on price, 800 they were asking!! I got K17CHN off them for a grand 12 years ago (second names Kitching) and few year back 79 DK (year of birth and initials) Never been pulled once for the none spaced one, its all correct sizes etc so I think they just lets it ride Some people have a hatred of P.Plates, as I do people in flash cars who take 2 car park spaces But I wouldbt part with them! Scott
The ones mentioned aren't private, they are just considered personalised. Private plates are the ones that don't show any date, regardless of whether it is correct or not.
Josh42
I enquired recently about: JPW2J All 3 of My initials followed obviously by 2J(Z) It was never issued an the DVLA were going to auction it at roughly £600.

Private plates are the ones that don't show any date, regardless of whether it is correct or not. They are all classed as Personalised or cherished numbers, The DVLA withhold the ones they think can make money, whether its a one number one letter job or a simple D666DAN for example. They must have a data base list of 1000's - only release them in dribs and drabs via their auctions every few month. GRANTED, any plate (I think) can be applied to have it made a cherished number. PS... I like the look of - B19 8EAR. If your born in 1976, there is 1976 DB at DVLA Auction soon http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/auction/newcatalogue/
