J-Meiser
Hello To cut a long story short, I unintentionally left the torque converter attached to the flywheel when separating the gearbox from the engine yesterday afternoon . I undid the 4 bolts holding the torque converter in place, separated the parts and found, to my horror, that the torque converter was still being held in place by 2 bolts. I have since removed the 2 bolts and placed the torque converter onto the input shaft, but not properly, yet. Is that it for my gearbox or can I rescue it? Thanks! TheTurtleshead
You're worried that the torque convertor separated from the auto box? If so stop panicking! This is normal. Just make sure you line the two cut outs on the torque convertor hole/shaft thingy back up with the notches that you can see by looking in between the oil seal, on the front of the gearbox, and the input shaft. Failure to line it up properly and forcing it on can lead to you displacing part of the gearbox oil pump… then you really have killed it!
