Well with Midnight and Xbox Launch nearly here

The all import question for the XBoxers is what games are you going for

I have

Forza 5

Battlefield 4

Call of Duty Ghosts (because it was £20 off (Yeah I know they got me lol))

Need fro Speed Rivals

Xbox Live and a Charge Kit

That lot should keep me busy for the winter I guess

Loving what I'm seeing so far. Dash UI is the great, Kinect sensor is a lot shaper then before. I walked into the room and it signed me in straight away. Xbox Music has me synced across all my devices so I have my entire library to access via the cloud.

Just downloading Forza 5 and I'll be flying. All good so far.

BTW - I LOVE the controller. The D-pad is spot on and it feels perfick in the palms of your hands.

To be fair, it was VERY ambitious of Microsoft to try launching in all regions in the same day, but sadly it hasn't worked out well for them.

Most are hardly serious though, and it's not stopping people from enjoying their new consoles.

Gives the PS fanboys ammo though, though the Xbox fans deserve it after the amount of stick they've been giving the PS lot.

I wouldn't read too much into the network faults, as above that's going to happen. The drive grinding is something to worry about though.

Ironically, it was also a fault with the white 360s. Mine still does it, and requires the disc drawer bending every so often! :D

Forza looks stunning from what I've seen, though GT6 on the PS3 looks quite a bit better from what I've seen so far (graphics wise). I assume Forza is still quite 'arcadey' compared to Gran Turismo?

The convenient thing with that is one of the supplier of the blu ray drives is Sony. I smell sabotage :D

In all fairness though you cant ignore the problems which PS4 is facing, blue light of death, DOA consoles, overheating, hdmi port/cable faults and disc drives failing to eject a game or doing it without due cause. It's hardly flawless and already at a 4% failure rate in the US alone. It's not going to be magically fixed for the rest of the world when it is released so I expect that number to climb.

The PS4 failure rate is under 1%, and I suspect you'll find the Xbox will be similar. Considering the number of both consoles being sold, that is quite a feat.

I don't know what the failure rate was on the early Xbox 360s, but it must have been 50%. EVERYONE that I know who had an early xbox 360 (including myself) had to send it for repair within the warranty period. One friend had it done 3 times within the warranty, another had it done twice.

These are complicated machines.

My mistake, that is the accepted failure rate for new tech, never the less I'm expecting something else to wrong with the Xbox shortly.

I don't take either side but I think it is a bit sad to highlight one consoles flaws without first acknowledging the problems with the other.
