Why not just stream them (media share), instead? It's a lot easier...

It's not when I want to transfer files off my brothers PC onto MY Xbox Hard drive that I paid for... It's outrageous IMO to stop me doing that and a total deal breaker for me. I should be able to put any video/music etc I want onto it... IMO choice will always beat forced upon rubbish....

In the distant future when I'm looking at next gen, whichever console allows me the most freedom and choice will be bought!

Can you not just put them on your PC and go from there, instead?

No my PC is broken and can't afford to fix it so I'm getting whatever I want from my brothers computer and expected a service the ps3 provides on my Xbox. In fact its not even a service its just common usage. My iphone has better file transfer than the Xbox....

I'd whack the stuff on a USB stick and plug it in. The 360 was pretty much a stand alone games machine until they added apps, etc. In all honestly, I doubt they catered for file transfer as the majority of people share media across their own network for simplicity.

Yer all these little gizzmos do come handy but lets not forget ps4 responses to voice commands i.e turning on the console, multi media services. There just making less of a big deal about it

Excellent research again! You cannot turn on a PS4 using the voice command.

http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/consoles/ps4-voice-commands-will-be-extremely-limited-at-launch-1198548

They have to make "less of a big deal" about it because it's nowhere near as competent as the Kinect. It would be completely futile to challenge the Kinects capabilities. Sony knows where the PS4's strength lies.

Edit: Regarding the "lucky you're in one of the five regions" (corrected "your" for you there) :p

The Kinect can recognise eight different languages from launch and the PS4 only six. These are facts. :)

Oh yer i agree the voice commands in the xbox are better. Never said the ps4 was better in that department

But regardless of languages it will only work in 5 regions...

That'll be the regions where the eight languages are spoken. :)

From launch five regions and by midway through 2014 it'll be active on ten out of the thirteen regions the Xbox will be sold in.

Hmmm, wouldn't read too much into this report. Can't really base any story on two consoles, one of which (the one with IGN) will have received unusually high usage. The other one is out the back end of nowhere where it could have had any number of transport "issues" as it arrived DOA.

I can't see either console having significant issues like the well publicised Xbox and PS3 failures, it's really not worth the associated costs to have failures associated with a console.
