Central locking issues - Cobra alarm

James

Recommended Posts

I've had an issue with the central locking on my new Supra since getting it a couple of months back.

I have a Cobra ______ alarm (I'll have to check and confirm) fitted to the car. This was done by JM-Imports when it arrived into the country.

It has a 3 button fob (picture attached) with lock, unlock & what looks like bootlid.

The only thing that the fob does is enable/disable the alarm. It doesn't remotely lock/unlock the doors.

When in the car - after using the key manually, of course - the central locking button on the door does not lock the doors. I have to do this manually. However, the button successfully unlocks the doors.

I'm presuming that the first thing I should be checking is the little red (or blue, I haven't checked) box behind the passenger vent?

The thing that is baffling me is that I figured that, due to the central 'unlock' working from the driver door button, the fob 'unlock' button would work as well.

I have already searched and found symptoms relating to central locking, though not exactly the same (I had cold weather central locking issues with my last Supra so know a bit about it!).

Any help appreciated
