James
I've had an issue with the central locking on my new Supra since getting it a couple of months back. I have a Cobra ______ alarm (I'll have to check and confirm) fitted to the car. This was done by JM-Imports when it arrived into the country. It has a 3 button fob (picture attached) with lock, unlock & what looks like bootlid. The only thing that the fob does is enable/disable the alarm. It doesn't remotely lock/unlock the doors. When in the car - after using the key manually, of course - the central locking button on the door does not lock the doors. I have to do this manually. However, the button successfully unlocks the doors. I'm presuming that the first thing I should be checking is the little red (or blue, I haven't checked) box behind the passenger vent? The thing that is baffling me is that I figured that, due to the central 'unlock' working from the driver door button, the fob 'unlock' button would work as well. I have already searched and found symptoms relating to central locking, though not exactly the same (I had cold weather central locking issues with my last Supra so know a bit about it!). Any help appreciated
listy
As you said, try a new CL control box, or a known working one. They can be intermittent, especially when it's wet (like now) and moisture gets to it. Mine did the same. Then after the heat wave we had it sorted itself out. James
So, I never actually did look into this. Has anyone else experienced anything along these lines? Is it easy enough to replace the module? Or should I also look at changing the alarm system?
