Hi,

So after wanting a Supra for god knows how many years, and my s14a going through 2 motors in as many months, I have finally placed a deposit on a fully OEM TT Supra automatic, I get to pick it up Friday!

Just have a question regarding the transmission really, I have only ever driven an automatic once (company car) and never took it out of D. What is the "2" and "L" for? I understand it can be bumped up and down like a sequential? Or is this incorrect. Also, what is the overdrive feature?

Thanks in advance.

you'll never need to select L on the road, I mainly leave it in D occasionally drop it into 2 for roundabouts/playing etc. In drive the little overdrive button on the auto stick is great for dropping down to 3rd for higher speed overtakes motorways etc mainly. Sub 55mph selecting 2 can be better for overtakes but the kickdown works well and doesn't cause loss of traction in standard cars (at least not in normal conditions, in the cold and/or wet and a thick white centre line might give you something to think about!)

Supra's can be sensitive to tyre types and cheapo brands can make it a mare in the wet...
