arne
Hi guys, I'm thinking of changing my J-spec turbo's to Euro-spec turbo's. Can somebody tell me what parts I need (all the parts plz) and what's the average price of 2ndhand parts? Kind regards, Arne ps. Sup is BPU now on 1 bar, what's a safe boostlvl on EU spec and average horsepower on that lvl?

Nic
ps. Sup is BPU now on 1 bar, what's a safe boostlvl on EU spec and average horsepower on that lvl? 1.2bar on the j-spec or euro spec turbos, anything more and they start generating a lot of heat with diminishing returns. Around 380-400hp with j-spec and euro spec turbos at 1.2bar.
listy
Aren't J Spec and Euro Spec both ceramic internals? I think UK Spec turbos are what you are after, as they have the steel internals.

listy
Ah so it's just the J Spec that are different. My mistake
Luxluc
Although I pushed 1.4 bar on my euro-spec turbos, I don't think it's brings a lot more power than j-specs at 1.2 bar. If I were you, I would drive the j-spec till they're dead, and go single then
Tsia
As above, they even run a different manifold, so it'd be a whole lot of work for probably zero gain. IIRC the J-Specs bring you up to speed quicker anyway?
Chris Wilson
Why change from turbos with a better reliability record, much faster spool, and more flow to ones that usually smoke prematurely and flow less, more slowly? Some UK spec turbos had ceramic internals but only come across a couple of sets in donkey's years.
