I think he means the ones on the ic pipe. one will go to the topside port on the wastgate and depending on your setup and the setup the previous car had the other may go to a boost solenoid or can be blanked

Incorrect.

Bottom / side will get one hose, and if you have a boost controller it goes to the top port of the waste gate.

depends what boost controller / solinied you have and how its operated. if you are running base pressure you will blank one and run one to the top of the waste gate. you can then t off that line to a bleed valve or run off the second pipe to a bleed type boost controller. then on to the bottom of the gate.

so no my friend its not incorrect

Yes it is.

If you run base pressure, you run one boost/vacuum source to the bottom of the waste gate and leave the top of the waste gate off.

If you want to run a bleed valve you can either put it on the hose going to the bottom with a T and bleed off (unless it's a ball and spring type). You can also put it to the top port but the bleed valve must be on the line and not bleed off to athmosphere, you bleed the pressure to the top of the wastegate to get more boost.

The top port is the top port and bottom is bottom, it doesnt change if you have yours installed upside down. What if you install the waste gate sideways, is the top port then the right hand side, or then maybe left hand side if you have it installed to it's other side. Got my point? ;)

Top port, bottom port..

With your logic if you install a 2JZ so that it's turned 90-degrees to it side, the head isnt the head any more, but the head is the intake manifold as it now sits on the top. :p

it does change , most manifolds sit the wastgate the other way around to that diagramme, so if I say to the op put the boost line to the top port that's actually on the bottom , things are going to tits up artn they

How do you know the OP doesnt have a manifold where the wastegate sits on top. What if the wastegate is installed 90-degrees sideways and there is no top port at all!!

thought you were giving up. im playing the percentage game, odds are his wastgate will sit downwards like 86.778% of single jz manifolds . the short fact is weve now overlooked the original question and are bickering over what way wastgates sit. if it sits sideways all hell could break loos. I hope it never comes to that.

as for running a jz on its side, well , that would need a huge redesigned on the sump and oil pick up. im sure it would not be a realistic viable option .
