rear quater glass removal

has anybody got any tips on geting these out without breaking them, ive tryed once inthe past and it all went the shape of a pear.

Apparently a craft knife works best as they are fairly flat, just kepp cutting away at the glue from the inside, i smashed mine so had to get replacements this is how the guy who i bought the replacements off got them out

You need a lot of patience and time... Don't be tempted to pull at them, they have to be carefully cut out... If you're not bothered about the paint work then you can get wire between the body and glass after some work and it makes it a little easier to know where to concentrate your knife skills

do they not bolt in on a frame aswell ?

You have to remove the interior trim panels that go round the window, the windows

have bonded studs on them which go through the shell frame and secure the window

in place with nuts which you need to undo.

 

Then you need to cut through the window sealer that bonds the window to the shell, the

glass and trim round the window come as one piece and were around £150 each a while ago
