Jellybean
Just got a ALU Rad, I don't know if this is normal for Aluminium rads but the cooling Fins on it are like tissue, paper has more rigidity. Is that normal ? The Rad cap is fairly sticky getting it on and off, compared to my copper rad , the quality of an Aluminium rad just doesn't seem to match up Reading about the brands, Koyo, Fluidyne, PWR, Mishimoto ; alot of hit and miss on quality I think a Griffin Rad might be the only option http://www.titanmotorsports.com/grfor94su.html

Jellybean
Sorry Not blaming you ha ha Was just disappointed with the quality ; My friend Ian has the ARC rad , not too sure what mine is but its copper and 3 core and quality is worlds apart I was also reading up abput the other aluminium rads 2-3 times the price as ASI and they also people are also surprised with quality considering the price I reckon they are all made in China, a lot to be said for EU and US fabricated items but everything seems to be made in China , designed in the UK
hodge
I've got an ASI rad, and I've fitted loads of them, the quality is very good. Fins all seem fine. They must be quite good quality as I know of a few companies who buy in these radiators and rebrand them as there own. I found the only let down is the rad cap. They fail very quickly, but it's a Nissan fitment so any Nissan cap will work fine.

Is it normal you can move them with one finger up very very easily , compared to my rad and Greddy intercooler they are nowhere near as rigid; maybe I am being too critical Trust me , I don't want to spend 500 euro on a rad, but I want something that will last me

Jellybean
Stop being over critical I was looking at detailed pics of the other branded rads last night and to be honest the cores, look identical inside and out but at 2-3 times the price The mishimoto xline off mvp, caught my eye as it has a lifetime warranty
Jellybean
Some Info off MVP and Titan , might be useful for members, KOYO Radiator seems to be a winner My Q : What radiator do you recommend for the 2jzgte? MVP Koyo is consistently the best , Mishimoto has the best warranty and is overall very good but in Ireland you can’t really utilize the warranty. Fluidyne we had a lot of issues with and stopped carrying. Titan I would recommend a Koyo Radiator for your Supra.
Jellybean
I got the Koyo Radiator, difference in quality is night and day Cooling fins are ridged , not like the ebay unit you can manipulate with your finger https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-gj0IMvIlmCc/UjtFMk3aa3I/AAAAAAAABu8/bJuP3a08xd8/w777-h583-no/20130919_193626.jpg https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ml_zqWVqgN8/UjtFIOvUdHI/AAAAAAAABuw/TEgJTaj7XKc/w777-h583-no/20130919_193618.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-EtnjLKrV2tk/UjtFPCFdZUI/AAAAAAAABvI/4lkE54iqYoI/w777-h583-no/20130919_193602.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-fiCaZEe64dM/UjtEiRM9xbI/AAAAAAAABtw/Wg-RWziEsvM/w777-h583-no/20130919_193522.jpg

Tobias Titan Motorsports, arrived in 4 days MVP and titan both recommended the Koyo, I asked them independently what they recommend , good to see they both agreed on Koyo! I asked about the Ver2 Mishimoto units but guys in the US still had fitment issues and rad cap leaks, drain plug leaks ; for the sake of an extra 40 euro I pulled the trigger on a Koyo. Glad I did! I know Mishimoto has a lifetime warranty but if you are having to avail of it all the time , the rad is useless. I did a lot of research on the Rads , 10+ hours, work is slow LOL As far as I know, this is the only rad made outside of china and Koyo is very transparent in their manufacturing process http://koyoradracing.com/faq.asp#wheremanufacturered http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?702092-Mishimoto-Rad-Ver2-Koyo-Xline

Jellybean
how much out of pocket all in from titan ? It worked out about 400 euro delivered , I didn't get stung by customs though 165 dollars for shipping and 385 for the Radiator; they are in stock too; 550 USD
SteveC
I bought an ASI aluminum radiator a few years ago and I've had no problems with it at all. All the fins seem to be pretty well made and reasonably sturdy. The rest of the radiator appears to be very well made with good welding. Placed next to my well made £700 (or thereabouts) CW SMIC, there really doesn't seem much difference in build quality between them.
little num
I had loads of problems on the track with temps getting to 110 but since then I have fitted a brand new Toyota viscous fan unit and WOW what a massive improvement but I also decided to change the old stock rad for a Fluidine rad and its in my opinion is 1 of the best rads for the supra. LOGIE
I have one of the ASI rebranded rads and its cheap for a reason IMO. I have it out the car at the moment and I accidently dropped a small light cardboard box on it a few weeks ago and it bent the fins.. I pushed them back very easily which shows just how soft the aluminium is. Im going back to stock as soon as I can afford it.
