Lil
I found a Jap imported N/A here that I really like, and I am trying to get an insurance quote, I am 25, having a clean full European license since 2006, working full time in the automotive video industry in Bradford. Sky dropped me down because of my postcode. and in go-compare.com the best quote was from Bell at 5k o.O !!!!! Some friends said that might my EU license is a problem but I checked the gov.uk website and it is clearly stated that: "You can drive in Great Britain on your full, valid driving licence until you’re 70, or for 3 years after becoming resident in Great Britain, whichever is longer." So I don't think the license will be an issue until my 71th birthday! Also i drive company's vehicles whenever is needed with not a single issue or whatever so far. Any recommendations? Thanks
Gaz6002
After three years you need to get a UK licence. It says that in the quote you've used.
Abz
I think it is mainly because of your post code it is so expensive!!

Gaz6002
In the quote says "whichever is longer" not shorter... I think you may want to double-check that with your local police station because I'm positive that's not the law.

I will do, but this is exactly what I read on http://www.gov.uk not something I made up. How long have you lived in the uk? It's my fourth year now, I was a student for the first three years. Try giving these a call http://www.lwib.co.uk Thanks Dunk I will try to give them a call

I know, I read the same, but I'm 99% sure it's not right. Give the police station a call and double check
Guest Roger NE
Regardless whether it's strictly legal, NOT having a UK Driving License may well be why you're getting expensive Insurance quotes ! OR it may just be because you're not English! I know that sounds unfair . . . but if they consider you a higher risk because you're less used to driving on the Left, they will charge you more. (I'm pretty sure that after 3 years you DO need one anyway . . . that quote on the website is just badly written, otherwise the 3 years would only apply to someone who comes here aged 68!)
