Hi all, I have a 94 auto twin Turbo. When I seem to sit still the orange slip control light seems to flash and when I pull off the car stalls?

Is this a common issue at all? I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the MPH converter as my speedometer seems to have a world of it's own.

Also if I give it abit a red "!" Light comes on in the centre of the dash so does the orange engine management light, but that's occasional?

Help would be appreciated as I need to get it sorted for trax this weekend.

Cheers

Steve

cheers guys, I've had a search but haven't come to the conclusion yet. It also does not engage reverse sometimes?

so it could be the speed converter or the sub throttle position sensor i guess?

My traction control ecu went before my engine ecu. I just solved my reverse issue by changing to a good working engine ecu. My ecu caps leaked and caused shifting problems. Jack up the car and disconnect the solenoid wiring to the transmission. Check if there is no problem with reverse when unplugged. My hunch is your ecu is on the way out just like mine was.

Check your brake fluid level is at the max mark. Low brake fluid can cause this (and when accelerating, it can cause the fluid to move about in the reservoir sufficiently to trigger the low fluid warning).

It could be the speed converter, but if it is that isn't a serious issue: it can be ignored. The danger is that there are other issues. When those warning lights light up, it means the ECU has logged error codes. You really need to get those error codes to us by using the paperclip trick.

the main problem i'm worried about is the fact i go to pull off from traffic lights the orange traction control light flashes, Then the car cuts out then i sit there looking like a idiot for 10 mins before i can get the car to pull away again.

Still no Luck and no fault codes. Does the o/d light flash at the same time? Also does 500rpm seem low for a idle on a twin Turbo auto? Maybe thats the cause of the stalls sometimes but it only seems to happen when the orange slip light flashes when I sit still for say a few mins at traffic lights.
