Guest Hosky
Hi... me again [sAD][/sAD] The supra i have bought has a hks hi power silent system on, and well it just isnt loud enough. its only a cat back and has all cats still in it. Whats the exhaust parts that need replacing with shiny ones? im guessing manifold/s, downpipe decats and cat back? how much do they go for and whats the best one? i have hell and all trouble trying to find a stainless manifold thanks again
Scott
I wouldn't worry so much about the manifold. That's the last thing that I would change in the exhaust chain for noise/performance vs ££s. You want to change the 1st and 2nd decats, no need to worry about the MOT as the N/As aren't covered in that particular emissions test. For the exhaust I would recommend the TRD style 3" stainless one that can be had on ebay brand new for reasonable money. This with the decats will sound awesome. After that I'd save up and get the manifold done
Guest Hosky
im an mot tester so its all good - - - Updated - - - and could you send me an ebay link to the one you mean, and what decats i need? Thanks
Scott
im an mot tester so its all good - - - Updated - - - and could you send me an ebay link to the one you mean, and what decats i need? Thanks Makes no odds, you could take the car to the strictest tester in the UK and it would still pass on that basis http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-SUPRA-JZA80-2JZ-MK4-3-0-STAINLESS-STEEL-3-CAT-BACK-EXHAUST-SYSTEM-/321015321037?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ASupra&hash=item4abe0111cd That's the exhaust in question. Decats can be had second hand from time to time, iirc the 2nd decat is the same for N/A and TT, I believe the 1st cat is completely different though. Not sure where to buy them new, although the 2nd ones can be had for around £90 on ebay.

Al Massey
I had an autobahn 88 manifold, double decat 3 inch pipe and HKS hi power and it was ridiculously loud Edited September 1, 2013 by Al Massey (see edit history)
David P
Shop till you drop. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?281127-NA-Manifold-and-other-bits!!-TAKING-OFFERS-NEED-GONE!!&highlight=N%2FA+manifold+OBX http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?295685-Various-supra-parts-for-sale http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?295830-Exhaust Don't even consider a 3" system 2.5" is the way to go, unless you like your fillings falling out and your ears bleeding. Guest Hosky
yup, them 3 exactly, but the catback system can be had off ebay brand new for 180 delivered. but ill get the manifold and decat pipes off here if there available off any members. Nic
I'd keep the HKS silent high power much better quality and fit - despite the name they are not quiet, HKS figures are 99Db with both cats fitted - on an NA with both cats removed it will be loud. Chris Wilson
Why? So it can look ridiculous as well as sound ridiculous? Just noticed how many "loudest exhaust" posts there are on here these days. They appear on forums around the time used prices hit rock bottom and it's a toss up whether they are worth more weighed in. Sad..... Chris Wilson
I suspect the OP's car isn't in the 35K bracket, not that I think any MKIV is in that bracket, to be honest
Swampy442
Because it will fit right in with the Bee R limiter and painfully loud exhaust? Well said Mr Wilson.
